What happens if you save roggvir from execution

First went up there to get the guards be hostile, then use Voice of the Emperor, Roggvir still died of natural cause? I walked in to solitude and saw the execution about to take place and decided to stop it.

I completed the quest with her mother but the amulet remained in my inventory no reward no nothing out of desperation i tried to drop it in front of her and bingo! They should give us the chance to kill that filthy emperor that took the rights away from the nords to openly worship Talos, and soon invited the thalmor to essentially commit genocide against the nords in Skyrim. Yeah and Roggvir is considered a traitor in your book.

So, yes you can "save" him, and no it doesn't change anything, he's essentually a useless NPC, with no dialogue, who everyone talks about as if he's dead, despite him grinding away all day, and will disappear if you talk to him.
